Orca Book Publishers is pleased to announce a new distribution arrangement with Inhabit Media, offering Canadian distribution and sales representation of Inhabit Media books. Inhabit Media will retain exclusive rights to distribution in Nunavut. This arrangement takes effect September 1, 2021.
Based in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Inhabit Media Inc. is the first Inuit-owned, independent publishing company in the Canadian Arctic. They aim to preserve and promote the stories, knowledge, and talent of Inuit and northern Canada and to ensure that Arctic voices are heard and have the opportunity to contribute to Canadian literature.
Since their inception, Inhabit Media has been working with Elders and storytellers to ensure that the rich storytelling culture of Inuit is preserved and passed on. Almost every book Inhabit Media publishes is also available in Inuktitut or Inuinnaqtun.
