Celebrate the Moon Festival with the sweet taste of Mooncakes!

On Sunday September 22nd, join in the celebration of the Chinese Moon Festival at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Vancouver. There will be activities, games, delicious treats, and a book reading from Orca’s very own Loretta Seto, author of the enchanting picturebook, Mooncakes. And yes, there will even be mooncakes to eat!

On Sunday, September 22, Chinatown’s Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden will celebrate the annual Mid-Autumn Moon Festival with festivities and activities for all ages. The Mid-Autumn Moon Festival (second only to Chinese New Year) is one of the most important holidays in the Chinese calendar. It is a festival that traditionally brings families and friends together to honour the full Harvest Moon, share stories, play games and eat delicious moon cakes!

Book Reading by Loretta Seto
“Mooncakes”

Listen in and cozy up with your little ones as Loretta Seto narrates her widely successful children’s book illustrated by Governor General Award nominee Renne Benoit. With touching stories and stunning artwork, learn more or re-experience this traditional Chinese Holiday in live prose.
